If you have one or more missing teeth, dental implant restorations are an effective treatment for renewing the aesthetic appearance and functionality of your smile. Over the past 20 years, dental implant technology and its remarkable techniques have advanced rapidly. Dr. Nicholas and her team of specialists have the experience and expertise that will enable you to regain your smile as it once was.

Improving your smile means improving every aspect of your quality of life. People who enjoy a beautiful smile are more confident and secure. Those who have nice teeth tend to smile more, which literally enriches social relationships and personal interactions. Healthy-looking smiles reflect a healthy body, and healthiness is always attractive and en vogue.

We are happy to report that the process for restoring your smile is very simple: During your consultation, Dr. Nicholas or a member from her team of specialists will take a series of X-rays in order to develop your particular treatment plan. For instance, our team needs to determine how much healthy bone structure is available. And if the tooth loss was the result of advanced gum disease or severe tooth decay, you may need some preparatory treatment first, before we can proceed with your dental implant restorations.

Dr. Nicholas and her team of specialists usually perform the dental implant procedure on an outpatient basis. For your comfort, the procedure requires deep sedation, so you will need to have someone with you to drive you home afterward.

During the procedure, Dr. Nicholas and her team of specialists will create a narrow channel in the bone for each implant post. These posts serve as the equivalent of natural tooth roots. Titanium abutments are then screwed into the channels. Titanium is the metal of choice, because it is biologically safe and resistant to corrosion. In time, it will bond with the bone structure to create a strong and sturdy anchor.

Dr. Nicholas and her team of specialists will then place a temporary cap over the abutment to protect it. And once everything is healed and fused together, Dr. Nicholas and her team of specialists can then fit you for your dental implant restorations, which can be a dental crown, a dental bridge or dentures.
