October is National Dental Hygiene Awareness month. It’s the perfect time to remind everyone about the importance of oral health.
Statistically, nearly 50% of Americans don’t seek dental care. Dr. Anne A. Nicholas says there are many reasons why we need to take oral health seriously. “It’s really important for my patients to come in and make sure there’s no periodontal disease going on, oral cancers, all that bad stuff in their mouth, because that could be causing a lot of systemic issues in their whole body which people aren’t aware of.”
That’s why she does everything possible to make the patients experience a positive one.
Dr. Nicholas says, “I want to know about their family, I find out what their hobbies are, and I help to make them feel like they’re not in the dentist office at all then I’m actually doing my work and they don’t even know.”
And that’s a huge part of what’s Dr. Nicholas patients feel most comfortable about too. She said, “We talk about how school is going and stuff like that.”
To avoid serious health issues and anxiety, everyone should see their dentist often, then, they are less likely to be afraid later on.
So, the sooner you start, the sooner your dental health issues will be resolved. Contact Dr. Nicholas today and keeping everything healthy throughout your whole body and enjoy a longer and better life.
