 Sedation Dentistry

Once you’ve experienced sedation dentistry with Dr. Nicholas, you’ll never be afraid to go to the dentist again.

You’ll be sedated so that you will have no memory of the time spent in the dental office as if you were snoozing. You won’t even remember how you got home. You’ll wake up refreshed, with little or no memory of what was accomplished during your dental treatment.

Because you’re completely relaxed and comfortable, we can do all the dental treatment that is needed in one or two visits. We can replace crowns, dentures, bridges, restore sore gums to good health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, and even place dental implants and more. People with very busy schedules can get the dental care they need comfortably and in a short period of time.
Imagine being able to smile with confidence and chew your food without pain. No wonder so many patients say: “Sedation dentistry changed my life.”

How does sedation dentistry work?
Conscious sedation is a safe, drug induced state in which you are conscious and pleasantly relaxed, yet free of fear, anxiety, and apprehension. It is different than general anesthesia and does not carry the inherent risks associated with general anesthesia.

You are given a small pill to take an hour prior to your dental appointment. Your companion will drive you to the office. By the time you arrive you will be very drowsy. When you arrive in our office you will be escorted by our assistant into the comfort room, you will be covered with a warm blanket, and placed on a monitor to watch your vital signs. After you are comfortable, Dr. Nicholas and her experienced clinical team will take care of all your dental needs.

When your treatment is completed, we will call your companion to pick you up and take you home, and we recommend that somebody will be with you for the rest of the day to make sure that you are comfortable, relaxed, and assist all your needs.
